A great shot of Laura by Eric |
It was finally cool enough to enjoy the afternoon session with the puppies at Whiskers N Paws, and they all had a brilliant time playing chase and splashing in the deep water container I put out for them after they kept emptying the water bowls. It was the last time for Marnie to enjoy a runaround with sister Dilys as she left to start her new life, and while I know she will miss those times I'm sure she will make new friends, not to mention having her own family. This particular litter of five girls are exceptionally smart, sweet and friendly, and there is just one last chance to take one home.

Marnie's new family plus ex-foster Naoko |
Marnie's family had been to Whiskers N Paws the previous Sunday so we were anticipating this particular adoption, but there was a surprise when shy Tickle was taken for fostering, even though she has become increasingly confident over the past months thanks to the puppy afternoons. Now with the support of our experienced trainer Cactus, we hope that Tickle will adapt to living in a home and to our human way of life, something she hasn't experienced before.

Tickle was fitted with a safe collar and harness before leaving |
Our volunteer photographer for the afternoon was Eric Tang, and he captured some great moments of play as well as other more quiet moments. You can see the full album here
and for those interested in younger puppies please take a look at sweet and gentle Evie and Jack Russell-ish boy Jack as both are still available.

Jack really is like a Jack Russell |

Evie went to our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre |
We are also in need of a foster home at least for amazing Grace, the happiest girl ever. She's a smaller sized mixed breed, and although she appears in every way to be perfectly healthy she has a below-normal red cell count. That means suspected tick fever and she'll start treatment on Tuesday with an injection. I do hope that sorts the problem out as this girl is just perfect for any family.

Little Grace always has a smile for everyone |
Another of the new ex-breeder schnauzers was adopted, and today's lucky girl was Peggy. It's always a bit special seeing these breeder dogs leaving to begin their new lives because we know what they have been through and what horrible things they have experienced.

Enjoy the rest of your life Peggy! |
