Sun 5th March: Shiba inu day

Shiba Mika was in and out
I didn't know until she turned up if the eight month-old shiba inu puppy was going to be coming to Whiskers N Paws, but as it happened not only did she appear but the couple who had seemed to me to be the perfect adopters  were there at the same time so were able to take her home immediately.

It was also a lucky day for first-timers Fish and Chips, the two shiba inu-cross puppies who had been surrendered with their mother and had since been in foster.  I think it was pure coincidence and not their part-breed that made any difference, but it ended up being just a shiba inu day in the end.

There is one more shiba inu at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, still without a name at the moment, but I'm sure he'll be leaving before too long.

In fact it was Noodle the poodle who left today for a trial to see how he and ex-HKDR schnauzer Gretel get on, so we're hoping for good news soon.

There are so many really beautiful puppies that are growing up quickly, and I don't know why they are still with us - but they are.  Take a look at Eric Tang's wonderful photo set and you'll see what I mean. Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 145 new photos from 5 March to the album Puppy Adoption Day 5 March 2017.
