Sun 2nd Oct: A tired group of WNP volunteers

After the "Game of Bones" gala dinner I had to spend Saturday night in a hotel because it seemed every sampan driver had taken National Day off, and there wasn't a boat to be had.  Luckily there's a couple of hotels very close to the point where I pick up the sampans and I was able to get home early on Sunday morning to take the dogs out for their walk before leaving once again for Whiskers N Paws, but I hadn't slept much and I think most of us were pretty tired during the afternoon.

Due, possibly, to it being a holiday weekend there weren't many adopters around but there were two set of young donors to make up for it.  Ariame (Ari) shared her birthday via Two Presents, while the Flower Selling group of Katherine, Mary, Jay, Auggie, Ellise, Erin and Hazel had been out once again during the summer enticing passers by to buy flowers to raise money.  This year the total was $2,480, another great effort by everyone.
Another great Flower Selling fundraiser

Our current puppies are so beautiful, and today's lucky pair were Shanti and Curry.  For the full set of photos please take a look at our Hong Kong Dog Rescue Facebook page, and contact us if you are interested in any of them.

We had two additional hopefuls from Tai Po, Raven and Flanders, and although a little bit shy at first they soon warmed up and enjoyed the terrace and playing with all of the other dogs (not to mention the treats).  These are two really lovely young adults who would love homes of their own.
