Fri 14th Oct: The wait is over

Violet came from a breeder with heartworm
Kathy was my assistant again today as we did the rounds in a hire van, taking a collection of dogs and puppies to AFCD for licensing, or registering myself as the official Temporary Keeper for bulldog Zippo and Yorkie Violet.  They are both breeder rejects and came without any paperwork, and while Violet has a license somewhere Zippo still has a microchip only with no registered owner.  This state of no actual ownership also applies to a very lovely young dachshund currently languishing in an AFCD kennel as he (I think) too only has a pet shop microchip, but as I'm hoping it won't be too long before he can be released for homing it would be nice to have potential homes standing by.  The dachshund is a brown-and-tan short-haired standard young adult, in good condition and very friendly.

Zippo being measured for a wheelchair
With Zippo now having had everything done that we could in terms of treatment and licensing, we're hoping that he will leave the Homing Centre for his new home this weekend.  We received an offer of wheelchair sponsorship, for which many thanks, and Andrea measured him up for his wheels today.
Chewy with a snotty nose

After a very long wait German shepherd-cross Chewy left Tai Po for a trial adoption, and to give her some relief from the terrible allergy she has to the Homing Centre itself.  It seems incredible but when she is there she has the worst runny nose and can hardly breathe, but as soon as she leaves it stops completely.  Every time we sent her to Acorn for tests she was fine by the time she arrived, so the months-long exercise has been frustrating to say the least.

The wait for the Peak to Fong 2016 ticket/T-shirt is finally over and we can reveal the Beauty and the Beast Disney designs.  Sales have already started so as always, please don't leave it too late to buy if you want the size and style of your choice.
