Tues 2nd Jan: We need your help!

New shiba puppy boy

Getting straight back into the usual scenario of new dogs arriving, the four ex-breeder shiba inu came today, two black, one tan and a cream-coloured puppy.  To avoid confusion with the other shibas, I haven't given them Japanese names, and just came up with some random names so they could be identified.
There's one boy and one girl this colour

I know one of the previous intake, Ino, will be leaving for his new home on Wednesday morning first thing, and I don't think the new puppy will be around for long either, so at least that helps with the shiba numbers.

Bambi was found stray

We've also agreed to take another young and very small dog who was found as a stray before Christmas, and who has been staying with the finder's family during the holidays.  They called her Bambi, so we can stick with the name as she's definitely a very cute and appealing little girl.

Other than the dogs, which are obviously a major part of our lives at HKDR,  I've been talking about a potential new site for a Homing Centre on Hong Kong Island, one that is large enough for everything to come together again, just as we were when we had our last Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  The only barrier to achieving this dream is money, or at least the resources to be able to set up again from scratch.  We don't have large funds sitting in the bank, in fact balancing our finances is always a worry every month, so we need help from outside.  Donations are an obvious way to support our dream, but we're also calling for help in other ways, such as skills and time.  The potential space is currently a shell, and we will need to build, and paint, and lay flooring, all of the basics for a new beginning.

If there are individuals who have building skills, or volunteer groups who offer pro bono help to charities, we need you!  Please email info@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can support in any way, or even have contacts of people or volunteer groups that you know if that can do this kind of work.  Thank you!
