I always have to watch the tides when sending Lamma dogs to the vet, something I'm sure doesn't affect anyone else that I can't think of. Today it was Treacle's turn to go back to Acorn for another ear flush as she's always been prone to ear infections, and putting drops in isn't easy. Anyway, I'm sure she feels a lot more comfortable now, and I know for sure she was very happy to be back home later in the day.
One of my other tasks today was to write an update for the Life Saver Club sponsors, a special group of people who so kindly commit to sponsoring our long-termers. There are so many dogs (like Treacle for example) who in reality will almost certainly live out their natural lives at HKDR, and by sponsoring one of them it's like a virtual adoption. You will be sent updates and photos, and a certificate when you sign up giving details of "your" dog. You have a choice of monthly donations you can make, and if you would like to know more please go to https://hongkongdogrescue.com/donate/sponsor-a-dog-life-saver-club/.
I wrote about the possibility of some Malinois puppies (Belgian shepherds) coming to us, in the hope that we would have potential adopters for them when they arrived. I've been putting out feelers and reconnecting with old contacts who had helped with this breed in the past, but for now the three pups are staying at our Kennedy Town North Street Centre after arriving today. They're just eight weeks old now so they have a lot of growing and learning to do, hopefully in homes that can teach them and train them and give them lots of time and exercise (when they're older).
