Sat 6th Jan: When Edgar becomes Emma

Jack has been adopted!

The best adoption news is when a Tai Po dog is chosen, and that happened today when Jack was taken home by one of our wonderful volunteers, Jessica.   What's even better about dogs that are adopted by volunteers is that they already have a relationship, so the first part of the settling-in process has already been achieved.

We have so many truly wonderful dogs staying at our Tai Po Homing Centre at 6 Shek Lin Road, so please keep them in mind when you're looking for a new family member.  Just because they're not baby puppies doesn't mean they don't have a whole lifetime ahead of them, as many are young adults or even doglets, the age between puppy and adulthood.

Celia and Cola both found homes

If you were hoping to meet the two tiny puppy sisters, Celia and Cola, at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed as both were adopted today from their foster home.  However there will be two new Puppy Party participants in Emma and Eccles who came to us at the same time as the other "E" puppies, Elfie and Enzo (on Instagram @why_i_foster).  The four look very different from each other, but they may or may not be related.

If you're wondering where Emma suddenly came from, she was originally mistakenly identified as a boy, and given the name Edgar.  In the photos sent by the foster parent it was clear "Edgar" is a girl, so the boy's name no longer suited her and she was changed to Emma.

Bambi is a small adult

We still have lots of young and smaller-sized adults staying at our Kennedy Town Centres, with new arrival Bambi settling in with the others.  She was found as a stray at Christmas, and has been staying with the finder until he had to go back to work.

For all adoption enquiries, please start by completing the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.
