Mon 8th March: The Life Saver Club

Joe's going home

Puppy Joe was adopted from the Tai Po Homing Centre today, wrapping up his family's file even if there were only three brothers to start with.   Still available at the big Homing Centre are Baguette, Macaroon and Donut, as well as the new puppy boy Julius, and they're all lovely.

Scooter

I had to have a cuddle with baby black fluffy pup Scooter at Ap Lei Chau today, because he reminds me so much of my dog Diamond, sadly killed by a cobra and very much missed.  "Black fluffies" as a "breed" are lovely dogs, at least in my experience and memory, and there's already been a lot of interest in little Scooter. We're just waiting for his vet check-up and to make sure he's fully healthy, as much as it's possible to ensure anyway.

Baby Diamond grew into an amazing dog

Two more puppies are due to come in this week from AFCD Sheung Shui, so again there's no shortage of supply, although no small sizes unfortunately.

You may all be familiar now with our Life Saver Club sponsorship programme, a scheme which offers individual sponsorship of specific dogs on a monthly basis.  This has always been managed by a volunteer, and currently that's Ellen Wong.  However as her real job is taking up more of her time, Ellen is having to hand back the running of the Life Saver Club and it will now fall to our recently-returned staff member Eva Loo to handle enquiries and updates for the sponsored dogs.

I want to thank Ellen for all of the work she's put into helping, and I know it's a lot of hours.  If you're interested in knowing more about the Lifesaver Club and how you can become a sponsor you can check this link https://hongkongdogrescue.com/donate/sponsor-a-dog-life-saver-club/, or email Eva at lifesaver@hongkongdogrescue.com.
