Fri 12th March: Introducing the new arrivals

I would never normally make predictions about a puppy's potential adult size, unless it's a known breed of course, but I'm going to stick my neck out and say the four almost-identical sisters that came today are definitely not going to be bigger than medium size when grown.  They're really quite tiny at the moment and they're not very young babies. We'll get an idea of their age after their vet check today but AFCD said they were three months old.   They are now the Sugerbabes: Treacle, Honey, Sugar and Syrup.

Sticking with the same sweet theme, an older puppy girl who also came today is now Candy, while siblings Gunner and Shandy are drinks.  In the photos of Candy and Gunner, you can see a perfect example of body language and facial expression showing two very different behaviours.  While Candy's face and mouth are open and friendly, Gunner's body is low and his eyes show definite uncertainty.  I'm sure the two currently shy pups will be fine once they're settled and started playing.

The last of today's group from AFCD was a young adult so she's now at Tai Po.  I was sent of photo with the question of what to call her as she is also an incredibly sweet girl.  I suggested Lolly as a name, but the Tai Po team will have to confirm their agreement.

My van meeting today was with puppy Julius, also a recent arrival at Tai Po and a gorgeous puppy.  I hope he'll be going home soon, as we have a meeting arranged for Saturday.

As always, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ if you're interested in meeting any of the dogs and puppies available.

(Maybe) Lolly is also incredibly sweet and young
