It seems a lot of people have been enjoying family time over the Lunar New Year, and although our Homing Centres were open - as they are every single day of the year - and we had quite a few visitors coming to meet the dogs and puppies, there were no adoptions taking place. The weather was so lovely I imagine people were flocking to the countryside to enjoy the sunshine, and we have a lot of Tai Po dogs booked for hiking on Sunday. If you're one of the volunteers taking a dog out please remember to get photos!
With nothing much to report, I'll just update the photos of our latest intake of puppies, with names this time. It's always fun to look back at these baby shots when the pups are a bit older, and then again when they're adults, because they change so much in every way. Ears that start as little flaps on the side of the head will probably grow to stand up, either fully or at least semi-erect, and coats will lose the soft puppy texture to flatten out or become thick and long with a full fluffy tail. I love the surprise element of the mixed breeds, and we've seen some amazing transformations over the years.
All puppies are available for adoption at any age but with the very young ones you will need to take a second for fostering until they're old enough to be separated, a minimum of eight weeks. Please complete the adoption questionnaire as a first step. I know I keep repeating this but for the new readers the link is at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
