Sat 8th Aug: Trouble with the blog posting

I'm still struggling with the changed blog format and trying to post photos, so for today I'll have to share them under the post itself. It also seems that when published all paragraphs merge into one, so apologies for it being difficult to read. It was a crazily busy day at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre with so many potential adopters coming to meet the dogs and puppies, and I was in constant contact with Andrea and Zing, the staff members on duty. All of the visitors were those that had already completed the adoption questionnaire and had been invited to visit, so we already knew them by name at least, and the home situation, and that makes things so much easier. I was hoping to see most of the smaller dogs and puppies being adopted, but not all have been to see a vet yet so some potential adopters chose to wait until that was done, while others wanted to have a think overnight. In the end only Tippy, the three-legged girl, and little Mossy actually left the Homing Centre today, with Max waiting to go once he's been health checked and vaccinated. The puppies that came to us as very young babies are growing fast and all are doing well except one, little Ned. Although just over two weeks old when he came as part of his litter, he already had noisy breathing which turned out to be penumonia. He had to spend his days in hospital and nights in his foster home, and although the breathing improved he was unable to hold his food down. There are a couple of potential issues that would cause this, both of which are quite serious, although Ned is doing well given the situation and is a typically happy and plauful puppy. He's booked for a CT scan on Monday so we will find out what the long-term prognosis is, but either way I don't think it's going to be good news. Three of the earlier babies (sisters Prissy, Pansy and Pudsy) are old enough to come back to us and will be at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre by Sunday morning. They're still young puppies though so we would be looking to home them together, at least temporarily on a foster/adopt basis.

  1. Sally, I agree, the new setup is s**te. I've used 'revert to legacy blogger' (on the left at the bottom of the vertical menu bit) for now. Hopefully by the time we have no choice but to use the new c&&p system, they will have got the many, many glitches sorted out. But I doubt it. Makes life SO much more difficult, just when that's the last thing we need! xxx
