Sat 11th April: Two lucky pups

I'm working from home these days, and while you might think that means I'm lounging around doing nothing much I'm actually glued to my computer all day replying to the many emails that are coming in, far more than usual.  It could be due to the fact that so many others are also working from home so the idea of having a dog, either temporarily as a foster or adopting, seems like a good idea, but whatever the reason I'm trying to keep up as best I can.

At the same time that adoption and foster enquiries have increased fewer dogs are coming to us, especially the smaller ones, and it's frustrating not being able to satisfy demand.  We have plenty of dogs available, of course, but they're larger than most people are looking for, so I can only say please be patient and keep checking for new arrivals.  We never know from day to day what to expect, but I do know that a young pomeranian will be coming in on Tuesday.  If there are others you'll read about it first here, so keep checking in.
Lucky Moses and Amber

There was a lovely double adoption in the morning as two of the newly arrived puppies were chosen to go home together, and as it happens I know the adopters and that Moses and Amber will have an amazing life.  There are still four from the same litter remaining at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre so please complete the adoption questionnaire if you're interested.  I think you should know it by now but the link is www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
4 remaining now

It was also a busy day at our Tai Po Homing Centre with dogs heading off for their new homes, again either for fostering (some as a trial adoption) and others having their adoptions confirmed.  Today it was Cookie who was the lucky forever dog, and I hope there will be more in the coming days.
Cookie has her forever family now

Our Tai Po Homing Centre remains open every single day, but to help our small team of staff and volunteers who are doing an incredible job taking care of so many dogs there, please complete the adoption questionnaire before visiting.  In that way we can prepare the dogs that would be most suitable and save a lot of time.

Once again I have to say a huge thank you to our incredible volunteer Foster Coordinator Cindy, who is having to handle so many foster enquiries and arrange meetings with potential adopters, while also holding down a full time job and having her own family to look after.  If I could hand out medals then Cindy would be top of the list to receive one.
