Fri 10th April: Giving dogs a chance

Apologies for the late post as my internet was down and I had to walk the dogs.  Some things just have to be done as scheduled, and that includes walk and meal times.

Midas had his adoption confirmed
I can jump ahead a day and say that Tai Po dog Midas had his adoption confirmed after a short trial, and thanks of course to his new family for giving him this chance.  Usually the dogs that have been staying at the Homing Centre for a longer period need time to adjust and settle, and patience is needed during what can often be a challenging couple of weeks.   Trust doesn't happen overnight, and trust is the most important part of a dog-human relationship.
Lucy is a large dog, although she looks like a schnauzer type

It's sad that dogs get overlooked due to their behaviour at the Homing Centres because it's often the dog's form of self-protection and not what they're like in a real home.  Lucy is one of those dogs who we know about as she was previously in a home where she was lovely, other than being upset by having young children running around.  On her own and in an adults-only and quiet home, Lucy would be blissfully happy.

Another dog who really didn't do well in the Homing Centre was Romeo, and we were all so happy to read that he's already settling in his foster home.   A chance to shine was all he needed, and to be away from other dogs, so another huge thank you to his foster for giving him a chance.  Now he has his own space and loving it!
