Sun 9th Feb: Lucky Bamboo

This was Bamboo last Sunday
Ironically the puppy who was adopted at Whiskers N Paws today wasn't actually there, as his family were attending the first lesson of the four-part Positive Partners training course, which is theory only.  Bamboo has been in foster care with the family for a while and his sweet personality won them over so he's now a forever puppy.

We only had two hours for the adoption afternoon this week as Whiskers N Paws were closing early, but it was long enough the puppies to have their runaround and playtime before going back to their respective foster homes or the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  You can visit the Homing Centres any day of the week from 10am to 6pm to meet the puppies staying there, and all are also available for fostering.  Please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can temporarily look after a puppy in your home.

I love this photo of Adele and hope it wins her a home
Eric Tang was the volunteer photographer for the day, and as always the results are amazing  Puppy Adoption Day 9 February 2020.  If you're interested in meeting any of the puppies shown, except Tiger who has already been chosen, just complete the Adoption Questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ as a first step.  You can see from the photos how sweet the puppies are, great with children and all really ready for their new start.

Luckily for the Doberman who was found wandering, he was offered a foster home today and is now warm and comfortable indoors.  We will assume he's been abandoned rather than lost as I haven't heard anything back from AFCD about the owner having been traced, and I'm just grateful to his finder and his foster home for saving his life.  Thank you.
This is more like it!

I was also happy to hear that the dog Pippi I took from AFCD on Friday as a terrified surrendered pet is doing so much better at the Tai Po Homing Centre. She started to eat again and is happily going for walks, proving once again how traumatising it is when companion dogs are thrown out in such a heartless way.  I can't even begin to imagine how and what a dog feels when it's taken to AFCD and then sees its owner walking away - for ever.
