Thurs 3rd Oct: Who'll take Sailor home?

Sailor stayed at Whiskers N Paws where the staff loved him
It was another day of meetings for me so once again I wasn't at AFCD or Acorn, even though a few of our dogs and puppies were at the vet clinic, like Sailor whose time had come for desexing.   I really want this lovely doglet to find a home as he has such a good character and it just seems unfair that nobody chose him before he needed to move to Tai Po.  Maybe there he'll have a better chance to show what a brilliant family dog he'll be if only he's given the opportunity to prove himself. Take a look at the Whiskers N Paws video about Sailor https://www.facebook.com/WhiskersNPaws/videos/2972367199656019/

As you know, an important part of dog rescue work is raising the funds to be able to take good care of the dogs and puppies that are in need of food, shelter and veterinary treatment until they find their forever homes.  In some cases of course that day never comes, and that means we will look after that dog until the natural end of its life.   Fundraising comes in many shapes and sizes, and in this particular case in the shape of a beautiful pot, specially commissioned by artist Charlotte Mary Pack, who was moved to make this offer after seeing the work done by HKDR.  This is a wonderful opportunity to buy a gift for yourself or someone else, and support our work at the same time.

A special project for HKDR - Limited Offer until 31st October 2019
For her debut exhibition in Hong Kong, Charlotte Mary Pack was commissioned by Maison Huit to create a new ‘Dog Collection’ – a new collection different from her ‘Species Pot Collection’ that focuses on endangered wildlife animals.
After the artist’s visit to Hong Kong and learning more about Hong Kong Dog Rescue’s charity work, the artist has decided to take on a special project hoping to raise more fund for Hong Kong Dog Rescue and awareness for responsible pet ownership worldwide.
From now until 31 October 2019, Charlotte will be taking special commissions to create pieces of the ‘Dog Collection’. Collectors are welcome to specify the breed, size and color of the piece. 15% of the proceeds from this project will be donated to HKDR.
The artist does not normally take commissions for dogs or pets, and this would be a special opportunity for collectors who have always been hoping to get a unique piece for your favourite animal – our doggie friend!

This Saturday our long-term volunteer Becky will be at Concordia Pet Care with a selection of puppies waiting for homes, and we'll be back at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday of course.  Will this weekend be the day you save a life and adopt?
