Sun 13th Oct: Puppy fosters needed again

Everyone loves Ruthie
It's been a long time since we've been able to fully use the terrace at Whiskers N Paws because it's been too hot or too wet, so it was lovely to get outside today with the dogs and puppies.  Rain had been forecast but it never came, so it was perfect for fun and photos.

Snickers is a Mini Mutt, small and very loving
After thinking we had no photographers coming, Christine Dutka stepped in at short notice
 Puppy Adoption Day 13 October 2019 - Part 1
while Eric Tang was able to make it after all  Puppy Adoption Day 13 October 2019 - Part 2, so thank to both.
Christine Dutka took this lovely shot of Melanie

Carter is very affectionate
The new small-sized adults joined the afternoon get-together, with Carter, Snickers and Ruthie drawing lots of attention.  Thinking of how best to describe these little dogs that look like regular sized mixed breeds but are really quite petite, I've called them Mini Mutts, or MM for short. Zara is also a Mini Mutt, one of the "Z Litter" who came to us as very tiny baby pups and are now around six months old.  Zara has always been the most confident one, and today she was very relaxed and happy to be touched and petted by everyone.
Zara is a very easy Mini Mutt, sweet and socialable

Little Tuna
Other than little Tuna (whose sister Guppy didn't come today) we didn't have any young puppies to show but we have a new litter of seven arriving on Monday, and as they're going to be small-sized as adults we're expecting a lot of interest.  We need foster homes please, in pairs and then three together, until they're old enough to be separated.  Please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help with fostering, especially if it's with a view to adopt.
Babies need foster homes please

Although no dogs or puppies were adopted at Whiskers N Paws or Ap Lei Chau, we did have some great news from Tai Po when husky Pilot was adopted and German shepherd/malinois Germaine went for a trial to make sure the resident dog would be OK with having another in the home.
It's taken a while but Pilot has finally found his perfect home

Finally, we always need newspaper please, so ask your friends and neighbours to save theirs too and then drop at either of our Homing Centres.  Another donation we also need are hard and tasty dog chews for the puppies, things like cow hooves which Whiskers N Paws sell and are very inexpensive as well as providing hours of happy gnawing for little teeth.  No-Hide and Himalayan chews are also great for keeping puppies occupied, so if you order online or buy direct, perhaps you could add some chews to donate at the same time, thank you.
