Sun 12th June: Baby pups only at Whiskers N Paws

Corgi cross Olive is one young adult who is always there on Sundays
As anticipated it was a quiet afternoon at Whiskers N Paws with the rain keeping not only adopters away, but also the older puppies who would normally have been running around on the terrace outside.  There were two exceptions, one being corgi-cross Olive, a timid girl who just gets better with every passing week.  She even seeks out affection now, and you can see in her face that she is happy.  She is ready to go to a forever home now but would appreciate having another dog to play with, as well as some space at home as she is full of energy and can run for hours without tiring.

The other older puppy was Susie, adopted as a baby and cruelly abandoned at AFCD.  She was understandably nervous and confused, but she's settled really well in her foster home (my neighbours).
Susie really didn't know why she was there

As a result there were no actual adoptions although three puppies were taken for fostering, which means they will at least be staying dry for the coming week.   I really hope it's true that by next weekend the sun will be out again.  Here is the link to the photo album https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1212985402047523.1073742190.111369775542430&type=1&l=fd50795e53

This was a top-up  birthday donation
We did have one highlight of the afternoon and that was a Two Presents donation, or rather an additional top-up to a donation already made, and I apologise for not recording the name.

Also due to the rain, the flower sellers had to postpone their fundraising event until next weekend, so if you think you missed your chance to go and support them, you didn't.

The Pet Expo has ended now and thanks to all who supported
At least one event was unaffected by the bad weather, and that was the Pet Expo which took place inside at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.  Thanks to everyone who came along to support, and to all the volunteers who donated their time to helping out at the HKDR stand.

The bad weather has an unfortunate knock-on effect which becomes evident when you live with a lot of dogs who haven't wanted to go outside to play and are now bored by being inside with nothing to do. I got home to find that there had been some mischief going on in my "office", and despite everything being carefully put away in boxes on top of tables the floor was covered in mutilated DVDs (which I had been about to pass on to a friend), my desk diary (for at least the fifth time this year) and various bits of paperwork.  One of those was a blood test request form which I needed to take to the hospital on Monday for a follow-up check, and which I had very carefully kept in a plastic sleeve inside the pages of the diary so I wouldn't lose or forget it.   I did neither but it's gone anyway.
