Sat 11th June: Time for umbrellas and gazebos

Hopper is now at Ap Lei Chau
There's no escaping the fact that it's raining, and that it was raining all day and will be raining on Sunday and the whole coming week.  I waited for a break in the weather before taking the dogs out for a walk but it never came, so we got wet instead.  In fact once we're out the dogs don't mind the rain as they like to swim or cool off in whatever water is available, and it's only thunder and lightning that really scares them.

I felt so bad about the Lamma puppies, and the fact that they have to live outdoors, that I sent Hopper over to our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre halfway through the morning.  He is the pup whose leg has been broken and healed badly, and he is waiting to have surgery to re-break and fix it.  He is such a lovely boy and we need a foster home for him before he can have the operation.  If you are able to take him in until he has recovered (around two months) please let Cindy know by emailing foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.  In fact contact Cindy if you can take in any pups for fostering so they don't have to get wet.

Sunday opening is 12 noon until 8pm and we're at Booth PZ07, Hall 1AB
Thankfully the Pet Expo is indoors at the HK Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wanchai, and we have the perfect HKDR umbrella as one of the many items for sale. We'll be there again on Sunday if you are wondering what you can do on such a rainy day, that is if you're not planning on coming to Whiskers N Paws to see the puppies.  We will be there regardless of the weather because we need homes more than ever when it's so wet.
You can pick up an umbrella at one of our Homing Centres too

In fact I was reminded that it's that time of year when I really need to put up some gazebos for shade and shelter, and if you are able to sponsor the cost that would be perfect.  Even better if you can buy one or two and drop them off at either of our Homing Centre, or Whiskers N Paws, they can be put up immediately.  They really only last for one season but they are extremely useful during the summer months.

We need more gazebos like this if you are passing any garden centres
