Weds 4th April: Shy dogs need homes too

Peaky can go for walks now
One of the benefits of sending older puppies to Tai Po is that they get lots of socialisation and training, and I was so happy to hear that shy Peaky has been doing very well recently, and even walking nicely outside on a leash.  Although he has always been a very happy boy as far as playing with other dogs and puppies is concerned,  and he has never minded being around humans, he didn't like to be touched so taking him out was a challenge.  This new development is a huge step forward, and he may even soon be ready for the next step of moving to a home.

One thing about these timid dogs is that they do much better in a home with another dog to lead them, and this is the one big reason why little Olive hasn't yet been adopted.  Just like Peaky, Olive is a very happy girl who loves running around with other dogs and playing, especially with her current foster "brother".  As for humans, if she knows you she loves having her back scratched or her ears rubbed, and she will often ask for attention while at Whiskers N Paws.  However all of the enquiries for Olive have been from homes where there are no other dogs, or even cats, and Olive is fine with cats too. Olive also loves going for walks or running around the terrace on Sundays, so the ideal home would be able to offer good exercise.  On  her side Olive is a very sweet and gentle girl with not a bad bone in her body (meaning no aggression at all) , so when will the right home come along?
Get ready for the Lamma Adventure Day

Olive is always smiling

I've mentioned that we will be having a big outdoor event on Saturday 12th May to help us celebrate our 15th Anniversary.  This Lamma Adventure Day will start with lunch on board a private ferry ride to our destination,  followed by an amazing afternoon of whatever you and your dogs want, whether it's racing around freely in the vast open area, swimming in the lake or relaxing in the beauty of the natural seaside environment.  This is a unique and first-time-ever event for people and their dogs to enjoy an incredible private paradise without any interference from outside.  If this sounds like something you would love to do with your dog(s), please let us know as we need to book the appropriate-sized ferry.  Please email "Little" Eva at eva.loo@hongkongdogrescue.com to register your interest.
