Tues 10th April: Last day at the office

Jelly's on the right
I wonder if any of you remember the case of the two older pekes I took from AFCD at the end of last year.  I called the female Jelly and the male Mr Bean, and sadly he was in such an emaciated condition that he couldn't be saved.  Jelly needed to have most of her teeth taken out, which is usual in old smaller dogs fed a soft diet, but she got over that and started to enjoy a new lease of life.  Today all of our efforts were rewarded with the best news of all, her adoption, and she joined a lovely family which includes ex-HKDR Buggy, now Sampson (middle).
Poor Mr Bean had been unable to feed himself at AFCD

Another senior who has been given the chance of a whole new life is Doberman Devon.  She is really an old girl in big dog terms, and she was found abandoned in Chater Gardens, Central, of all places.  (The adoption photo will follow soon).

These adoptions are just the best, and we have seen incredible changes in even the oldest of dogs once they are in a home.
The HKUST Connect volunteers were rewarded with cuddles after their hard work

It was the final day of packing at the Ap Lei Chau Education Centre/office, and thank you to the volunteers of HKUST Connect Volunteer Team for their help in moving boxes down from the office in preparation for the last stage of the relocation to the new premises.  The current Homing Centre will continue to be at 21 Main Street for another month to allow for all of the dog accommodation to be built, as well as everything else, and we hope the end result will be as good as our plans and visions.  The main concern was to make the living area for the dogs as comfortable as possible, and also durable so we don't have running repairs to deal with.  It's an expensive project so we are hoping that sponsors can be found to help cover at least some of the cost.
