Weds 11th April: Office move completed

All of this now needs to be unpacked!
The move to a new Ap Lei Chau location continued today as all of the furniture and contents of the now-ex Education Centre and office were moved.  Thank you to the volunteers who turned up to help, and you can see the unpacking is the next big task from the photo here.  This is the upstairs floor of the new Homing Centre, and the dogs will obviously be located on the ground floor once all of the building work has been completed.   The permanent office dogs, Brandy and Sprite, will of course move in, along with hopefully temporary guests Cookie, Lara, Nancy and Cleo.

Even with all of the upheaval we have to continue with our day-to-day work of taking care of the dogs and trying to find them homes. There will be new dogs arriving on Thursday from AFCD (five puppies and an adult mongrel) and other sources (two more puppies and a Sheltie), so there's no change there.

I posted the story about a need for a new home for Oscar and Molly during the Easter and Ching Ming holiday period so there are probably quite a few regular readers who didn't see it.  The situation is really quite urgent now as the family prepare to move back to England, so please help share to see if we can find a new home for the dogs.  This isn't a case of them being abandoned as they are adored by their family and giving them up was the last thing they intended, but sometimes life doesn't work out as planned.  Molly and Oscar are two years old and wonderful, happy dogs.  If you can help please email me at sallyandersen@hongkongdogrescue.com as time isn't on our side right now.
Molly and Oscar need your help PLEASE!

This Sunday is the Doggie Dash for pugs and dachshunds, while the Lamma Adventure Day is exactly one month away.  This is a truly unique event because the location isn't open to the public and the fenced area is not only huge, but incredibly beautiful.  It's a fantasy land for dogs come true, a safe and private space where they can run, play, swim and relax.  We can't confirm the ticket price until we have a better idea of numbers as we have to book a private ferry, but we expect it to be $250 per person.  Ironically, the ferry company charges more for dogs than people so that has to be factored in.  Please register your interest with Eva Loo if you would like to join.
This vast paradise is the setting for our Lamma Adventure Day

🏖It’s Dog Wonderland! HKDR will be having a big outdoor event on Saturday 12th May to help us celebrate our 15th Anniversary. This Lamma Adventure Day will start with lunch on board a private ferry ride to our destination, followed by an amazing afternoon of whatever you and your dogs want, whether it's racing around freely in the vast open area, swimming in the lake or relaxing in the beauty of the natural seaside environment.
This is a unique and first-time-ever event for people and their dogs to enjoy an incredible private paradise without any interference from outside. If this sounds like something you would love to do with your dog(s), please let us know as we need to book the appropriate-sized ferry. Please email "Little" Eva at eva.loo@hongkongdogrescue.com to register your interest.
