I hope it was just due to the endless holidays but we haven't had any enquiries about the two dogs, Molly and Oscar, who are urgently in need of a new home. As I have said before this isn't the usual case of an expat family leaving Hong Kong and deserting their dogs, this is a very sad situation best described in the husband/father's own words sent from his hospital bed (I'm trying to upload the audio message). Molly and Oscar were adopted from HKDR as puppies, and as always we never let our own dogs down (which is why we have Lara, Nancy, Candy, Cleo and all the many other returnees back under our care). Please help Molly and Oscar if you can, even by sharing their plight and need for a new family.

Molly and Oscar realy need a new home |
The second pair of dogs started out as individual cases but have ended up becoming best friends in their current foster home. One is the three year-old bull terrier I have mentioned before, a happy and energetic boy who has found a kindred spirit in a German shepherd female of the same age. These two dogs adore each other and are apparently very easy together, with the foster parent (a woman) having no difficulty in walking both on a leash.

These two play all day long |
In fact I found out about the German shepherd after having received a nice enquiry about the bull terrier, and now I need a home for them both as a pair. The current foster has to move out of her home so it's again quite urgent, and she is worried that the bull terrier would be too full of energy as a single dog as he never tires. If you are interested in this lovely couple, or any other dogs, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com. I'm assured neither the bull terrier nor the German shepherd have any behaviour or health problems. I think it would be fine to re-home either dog separately if there was a similar dog already in the home, in terms of energy and playfulness.

The blood test showed nothing but this poor Sheltie is very depressed |
I took the new ex-breeder Sheltie to Acorn today, along with the mixed breed puppies who arrived with her. The Sheltie is young, but there is always a reason for any breeder dog to be thrown out and this case is no exception. The poor dog has one unresponsive eyelid meaning she can't bink, ever, so she will need lifelong eye lubrication unless the eye is removed. She probably had a chronic ear infection or there is some other reason why she tilts her head to one side, and so far she has refused to eat anything.
