It will be short post for today because I have to leave home early for an appointment in Central, but part of the difficulty of a change in timing is that the dogs don't understand. If I try to walk or feed them at times other than normal, they just stare at me as if I've gone mad. Dogs love to have a set schedule that they set their internal clocks by, and I'm sure many of you have experienced your dogs knowing exactly when it's time to go out or have their dinner. Routine makes a dog happy, so if it's time for a walk and you don't really have much time to spare, it's not so much the duration that matters rather the act of clipping on the leash and heading outside.
We seem to have a lot of dogs coming in from AFCD recently, and there are always more waiting. Perhaps I can mention one in particular in the hope that he'll have a home lined up when he arrives on Monday, because labradors are always popular, along with golden retrievers. He's not particularly young at seven years, but we're told he's friendly and playful. If you can offer a home, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.
