Rufus, Romy and Reggie |
Sundays are usually very busy for potential adoptions, but today was pretty quiet everywhere. At least we were able to take puppy Rufus out of hospital at Concordia Pet Care, and he's joined the other two at Kennedy Town. They all look well now, and hopefully will go from strength to strength to full recovery.
Puppies sleep where they drop |
For more puppy photos you can take a look at Bandit and Bethany enjoying their new life in foster care at Instagram @foster_doggie_hk, and another very relaxed Bucket Pup in his temporary home. This litter are too young for adoption as singletons, but can be taken in pairs on an adopt-one-foster-one basis until they're a bit older.
The puppies that are fully ready to move to their own families can be seen here Puppy Adoption Day 12th Nov 2023, with photos by visiting professional photographer Ian Taylor. Ian always tries to fit in some photo sessions for us when he comes to Hong Kong, and it's only a shame we didn't have a big crowd of puppies taking part today, but all three siblings are staying full time at Whiskers N Paws so you can meet them any day.
Some of the dogs at KT North Street waiting for their chance |
I'm holding back on sharing the photos/videos from two trial adoptions that I'm pretty sure are going to be confirmed very soon, but both are of dogs that really needed a proper home to blossom into their true characters. It's very hard to see dogs at the Homing Centres knowing that they just need to be given a chance to shine, and I can say that when one of the almost-adopted dogs first arrived she was completely shut down. It took a long time before she came out of the corner that she stayed in, but the new "E" is now a totally different character.
Hetty |
One of the transformations that I have seen from Day One when Hetty first arrived at Elgin Street as a very scared young girl, to the way she is now on Lamma, makes me happy but also sad at the same time. Hetty is so excited to be around people, and she needs a home with outside space so she can run around while she gains confidence going out for walks. She's a small-medium size and very pretty, and she deserves a family. Who can give Hetty a new life?
