Babs when she arrived |
I know of at least one adoption that's going to be taking place at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, as little Babs melted her foster parent's heart and will be staying forever. There's a good chance for another foster puppy too, but I'll wait to see if that happens before mentioning names.
While at least one, and hopefully more, puppies will find their forever homes over the weekend, we're expecting some very lovely new ones to arrive on Sunday. I'll share the photos once they have arrived, and we have foster homes lined up ready for them.
We're always receiving surrender requests, as I'm sure you know by now, but not all of the dogs in question actually turn up. I've decided after this happened so many times that I'm not going to mention any potential surrenders, which is why I didn't say that we would be getting a two year-old golden retriever on Wednesday, and just as well because once again the dog didn't turn up. However there's a new case that's bothering me because I know the breed is a special one and not easy to find a suitable home for. This particular dog is a young Malinois, otherwise known as a Belgian shepherd, and these dogs are like top athletes, with brains to match their physical strength and stamina. They're working dogs that need not only a lot of exercise, but also mental stimulation, and they are the perfect partner for anyone who loves running in the hills. In this particular case it was someone else who initially asked if we could help this Malinois as he was very concerned about it, but now the actual owner has confirmed that a new home is needed. If you want to know more, and are potentially interested in adopting, please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.
I should mention that by completing the questionnaire you're not committing to adopting, and nor does it mean that we will automatically agree either, it's just a starting point in the process. All information given is completely confidential and is never shared with anyone outside HKDR.
