It wasn't a surprise that the Whiskers N Paws puppy party was a quiet event today, as the weather was still forecast to be wet and windy.  I don't know about anywhere else but it was dry all day on Lamma, and the two hours at Horizon Plaza didn't see a drop of rain either.  That meant the puppies having a great time playing on the terrace, but sadly no adoptions took place, at least not at this venue.  Happily two lucky pups (Trent and Olive) were picked up, but these were directly from their foster homes.  In fact we could count Olive as a Whiskers N Paws adoption in a way as it was at last Sunday's event that her new family met her, so they had already decided on Olive as their choice.

Jimmy Tsang was the volunteer photographer for the afternoon, and we already know that his photos are going to be wonderful as he's so many years of practise.  Please take a look and see if there are any that you'd be interested in offering a home to Puppy Adoption Day 3rd July 2022.

Happy, friendly Dudley

I was especially sad to see that Luna didn't find her forever family today, and she was taken to the Tai Po Homing Centre at the end of the afternoon.  Please consider both her or Dudley, another ex-foster puppy who was unsuccessful at find a home during his foster  period, so their happy early months of family life and training aren't wasted.  Of course there are many other lovely dogs of all ages at Tai Po, and once again we were asked to take more from AFCD, as well as the constant stream of surrender requests.   The situation is really at breaking point now, with so many dogs already waiting for homes and so few staff having to work long hours under extremely difficult circumstances.   Abandoning your four-legged family members should never be an option, and it's unbearably sad that so many dog owners seem to think it's a perfectly acceptable thing to do.
