Sun 9th June: An understandably quiet day

Phoenix
I think the reason for the quiet afternoon at Whiskers N Paws will be clear to all Hongkongers, but regardless of the lack of adoptions we did get some lovely photos thanks to our newest volunteer photographer Bambi Yau, and the puppies had a great time playing.   Puppy Adoption Day 9 June 2019 — at Whiskers N Paws There's really nothing more guaranteed to put a smile on your face than watching puppy games and the fun they have.

At least there was one adoption at our own Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, another lucky dog from the group that came to us not long ago.  This time it was poodle Devon, a very sweet little dog and I'm sure the family will be happy with her.

We still have many smaller dogs and puppies waiting for homes so you can visit any day, as well as our Tai Po Homing Centre where the larger dogs stay.  One of those will be packing her bags to leave very soon, after a wait of over nine years.  Gypsy came to us as a puppy when we were still in our Pokfulam kennels, and she had some serious problems with her elbow joints which meant she couldn't use her front legs well and developed the habit of walking upright on her two back legs.  As cute as it looked she needed surgery to fix the problem, which was carried out by Dr Tony before he opened his own Acorn Veterinary Hospital.  Gypsy also has a wonky smile to match her wonky legs, but you won't find a happier dog and we love her and knowing that her time has finally come is brilliant news.
