Mon 3rd June: There's never been a better time to adopt

Gorgeous little girl
If you're looking for a smaller-sized dog to adopt there's never been a better time to visit our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  We took in another group today to add to the four that came on Sunday, and many of them are from the same home and may even be related.   We think that the black-and-white boy who was one of those dropped off today may well be the father of the puppies that came with Amber, and I guessed that the three I took to Acorn and AFCD for licensing today could easily be siblings.  Two of them definitely are, and they are very comfortable with each other so they must have been living together.   All of the dogs are young, maximum two years, and friendly, even if Miss Freckles is a little bit reserved.   She still enjoys being petted and I'm sure she'll settle and relax in a new home.
This girl's very young

The little poodle girl who was one of the Sunday group is very small, also young and very friendly. These dogs haven't come from a breeder, just someone who I'm guessing started with a pair that weren't desexed and it went from there.  Not all of the dogs are related or even similar, but there's definitely a large number that

are.

If you're interested in adoption please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) as a first step.  There is obviously only one of each dog so if we have many applications for the same one we will choose the home we think is the best match for that dog, and maybe another one will suit.  I'd love for the brother-sister pair of Champ and Alice to stay together, so if that's a possibility then that's the home we'll choose.
Alice (l) and Champ are surely siblings

Regular volunteer photographer Jimmy Tsang's album from Sunday's Whiskers N Paws afternoon was posted too late for yesterday's blog, so here it is:
Puppy Adoption Day 2 June 2019 — at Whiskers N Paws
There's almost always at least one photo that makes me laugh, and this time it has to be Chelsea's face as Sailor is overdoing the neck massage.
This week's funny photo

I've said it before but Chelsea really is a gorgeous girl, built like a whippet and with a lovely nature.  The fact that she's been in a foster home for a few weeks also means that she's very used to living in a home environment, is toilet trained and a perfect all-round family member.  If you'd like to know more about Chelsea or meet her in an environment that is easier for a one-on-one than the puppy afternoons, please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com to arrange.  Chelsea is great with children too!
Chelsea doesn't mind young kids at all
