One of the pups at Concordia Pet Care today |
I know that many Hongkongers have other things on their minds, but dogs don't care about politics and only live for the moment and what that holds. We also have to think about the dogs and finding them homes during this difficult period, both in terms of the time of year and summer holidays, the fact that many expats are leaving as their contracts come to an end and the current mood of uncertainty.

Poodle/terrier puppy Pringle is already available for adoption |
We have a lot of puppies of all ages and stages as well as hundreds of adult dogs of varying size, and late this evening I got the message to say that many more smaller dogs and puppies would be arriving on Sunday. As always we won't know for sure how many and what they look like until they are actually delievered to our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, but there has never been a better time to adopt in terms of what's available. Before anyone asks that doesn't mean golden retriever or labrador puppies, but gorgeous mixed breeds who are as cute as it's possible to be. From the photos it seems that some of the puppies are very similar to previous litters we're had, but I'm not going to share photos just yet because there's never a guarantee that the dogs we're expecting are the ones that will actually turn up.
Our volunteers were at Concordia Pet Care today and although there were not actual adoptions you can see the puppies who were taking part here, thanks to Yvonne Chan and her photography skills. It's much harder that you might think getting beautiful shots like these when you're working indoors in limited space, and I think Yvonne did an amazing job.
If the weather holds it's going to be the perfact afternoon on the terrace at Whiskers N Paws so I hope we get a lot of visitors despite the planned demonstration taking place.
