Fri 7th June: A very hot Dragon Boat Festival

Little Feather has a forever home
As you'll know, at least if you live in Hong Kong, it was an incredibly hot Dragon Boat Festival today but we did have some visitors to our Homing Centres resulting in three dogs being adopted, two as a pair.  Tiny Feather was the first to leave, with Champ and Alice next, all three being recent arrivals.

There are plenty more still waiting, and a further two baby pups, who appear to be very small sized, will be arriving on Saturday so we'll need a foster home for them please. If you can help email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com, especially if you can take them immediately.  Remember as foster parents you will be provided with everything you need including food and fencing/pen if required, and you won't have to cover any vet costs as long as the visits are pre-approved by us.

Also due to arrive on Monday after waiting a whole month for his release from AFCD (another long story) is the puppy son of poodle/terrier crosses Pippa and Biggles.  I have been visiting this little guy for the past weeks and counting the days until he could go, and finally it's almost time.  He's now around five months old, small, very cute and desperate for love while also being full of energy. I can't wait to be able to get him out of his solitary confinement so he can play with the other small dogs and be reunited with his parents.

We'll be back at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, but due to the very hot weather not on the terrace this week.  That means that it will be difficult to have the older puppies inside at the same time as the younger ones, so please let us know if you'd like to meet the three siblings, now four months old and all lovely.  Brother Perkins stays at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre so you can see him there any day.  He's a very smart and handsome boy, well-behaved and trained, so a transition to a new home should be very easy especially as he was previously in foster care.

Chelsea looks like a whippet
Chelsea is, as you probably know, my favourite of the moment due to her sweet and funny personality as well as her strong resemblance to my own Lamma dog, Griffin. She's been staying in a foster home for a few weeks so is already very used to living in a home environment.

Perkins (l) and his sister Dorothy

Dorothy is the third sibling, and she stays at Whiskers N Paws at the moment, along with Amy from another litter.  Dorothy, Perkins and Chelsea don't look alike but they all share a great personality and are loving, affectionate and great with children.  You can meet Dorothy and Amy any day of the week at Whiskers N Paws, but I think they will be working in the office on Sunday rather than being in their usual space.
Amy is currently staying full time at Whiskers N Paws with Dorothy
