Gorgeous Beau is one of the newcomers to Tai Po |
There were forty three adoptions during May, but again as you will see, we also took in a total of forty one dogs. As happy as we are to know that so many dogs and puppies found their forever families last month, there's never a reduction in the number of dogs needing our help and (hopefully temporary) care, just a rotation of individuals. We say that adopting a puppy means a commitment of around fifteen years, somewhat shorter with larger dogs and often even longer with small ones. That means if you bring a puppy into your home when your children are young, they will be adults by the time the dog's life come to an end. A child's interests change as they grow, as do circumstances and the time available, so please think about this story when you are adopting for your children....
Dear HKDR today Minnie sadly passed away at the age of 20 years old. In 2006 Minnie was found wandering the streets of Sheung Shui and picked up by the AFCD and rescued by Sally and the HKDR. We adopted her 4 days later. We are very grateful that we were allowed to adopt Minnie, she has brought us so much love and joy. Here is a small video to celebrate her life.
RIP Minnie 2002-2022
