Thurs 23rd June: Hera the husky (and many more)

Before anything else I need to mention that we seem to be having some problems with our emails (again), both incoming and outgoing, so we're not receiving all of them and vice versa.  We all have regular Gmail accounts so we can use those temporarily, but please try again if you've emailed and haven't heard back.

Hera

You'll all remember the story about the rooftop huskies (and other dogs), and all of the huskies we took from that recue operation went straight to foster homes.  They had mixed health conditions, with some being fine and others not so lucky, and one of the latter was Hera.  She needed surgery on her knee, so that was done and the stitches removed today.  Hera will recover completely, and at only two years of age she has many years ahead of her.   The foster family have been considering adoption during the period they've been taking care of Hera, but after a discussion with the resident cat it was decided that another home would be better all round.  So if you're interested in adopting a beautiful, young and sweet husky girl, please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.  Hera's fosters describe her as loving people and having their company, as well as being active, playful and enjoying going out for walks.  I think this is typical of most huskies, as they're very social dogs who really don't like being left alone for long periods.

Two new dogs are coming to us from AFCD Sheung Shui on Friday, both larger adults so they'll be going to our Tai Po Homing Centre. I really hope that some of our  already-resident dogs can find homes soon, as well as the older puppies who will soon be having to join the many others at our big Homing Centre before too long.

The puppies currently available are listed below, with links to photos as well as the area that they're staying in if still in foster homes.  You can meet the foster puppies by arrangement with Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com, or at Whiskers N Paws every Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. For those puppies with Instagram accounts you can follow them to see daily updates, photos and videos, so you will see what a wonderful start they have all enjoyed, something that will set them up for life.  Updates and photos of the puppies staying at our Kennedy Town Homing Centre are also regularly posted on our Hong Kong Dog Rescue Facebook and Instagram pages.
