Mon 13th June: Let's talk about puppies (again)

It wasn't that long ago that we moved into the Kennedy Town Homing Centre with very few dogs, and I knew it wouldn't take long before we had a full house again. Now we have twenty three puppies resident, in addition to those in foster homes, and three more staying full time at Whiskers N Paws. Here are the current Kennedy Town collection, and you can meet them any day of the week between 10am and 6pm (but please wait for a reply to your questionnaire before visiting).

Welcome Kai and the “I” puppies to our puppies kindergarten!

We're getting a lot of interest in volunteer dog walking opportunities, and we love having the extra help, especially at our Tai Po Homing Centre where the majority of the adult dogs are staying. The problem is that we need experienced volunteers to run the important orientation sessions, where new volunteers are shown how we operate, safety measures and all of the very necessary rules. Recruitment was very slow during the Covid restrictions, but once things started to ease there was a rush to sign up creating a backlog for the training sessions. This has meant that from time to time we have had to put a hold on any new applications, other than those who can volunteer during the week, and on a regular and long-term basis. Once the backlog of applications has been cleared then new ones are more than welcome, although for our Kennedy Town Homing Centre where almost all residents are puppies, there's not really a great need for dog walkers at the moment.
If you can help at Tai Po during the week, we can fast-track your application, but otherwise please be patient and don't give up! We really do want your support and we're trying our best to move things along as fast as we can. Thank you for your understanding.
