After the dust had settled following Tuesday's dramas and it was driver Ming's regular day off, today was relatively quiet. Lamma dog Sarah is staying in hospital while the remaining strange contents of her stomach are monitored to see if they will pass through naturally, and French bulldog Francine's heart problem seems to have been caused by dead heartworms causing blockages. This is the reason why strict rest is needed after heartworm treatment, because the dead worms take around a month to break down and until then it's vital that the dog is kept quiet. Gentle walks for toilet needs are fine, but there should be no running around or jumping. I'm not sure what the long-term prognosis is for Francine but she should be able to leave hospital on Thursday. If anyone can offer her a quiet foster home for the recovery period, please let Cindy know by emailing foster@hongkongdogrescue.com. The foster home should ideally be close enough to Acorn in Sai Ying Pun to make check-ups easy, and it would be best that there are no children or other dogs in the home that Francine might want to play with. In this case we're actually looking for a couch potato lifestyle, totally the opposite of what's normally wanted.

Another of the rooftop huskies was adopted today, this time by her foster family. Zhanna is a very lucky dog, just like all of the other rescued huskies we took in as they were all offered lovely foster homes that were very suitable for the breed.
Thursday is going to get busy again with the arrival of nine puppies, even if they should be heading straight out to their respective foster homes.
We are keeping some puppies at our Kennedy Town Homing Centre, the younger "C" pups Carter, Cole and Clio, and the slightly older (and much larger) "E" litter of Evan, Edgar and Esme. You can see more photos at hkdr_eagle of these and others.
