Before I start with today's updates, I would like to ask if there are any potential volunteers for our Sunday puppy afternoons at Whiskers N Paws, as we currently only have one regular and experienced long-term volunteer, Catherine, helping out. Sadly the rest of the regular team have either left Hong Kong or their situations have changed so they're no longer available, and although I'm always there remotely (on email and WhatsApp), I can't attend in person. If you can spare two hours on a regular basis to help out and you're over eighteen with a genuine love of dogs and at least a basic understanding of their needs and care, please email me at sallyandersen@hongkongdogrescue.com as a first step.
Zara will go home on Monday |
While puppy Digby's foster parents joined the Failed Foster Club (congratulations !), there were no on-site adoptions during the afternoon session at Whiskers N Paws. However, soon afterwards I started to receive many emails asking about certain puppies that had been seen by potential adopters, and now I can confirm that there are probably four puppies that have homes offered, one of them certainly being Zara, who will be picked up on Monday.
Our photographer for the two hours today was Eric Tang, a name you probably recognise by now as being one of our longstanding volunteers whose photos are always a joy Puppy Adoption Day 8th May 2022. If you are interested in meeting any of these puppies in their foster homes, please start by completing the questionnaire and then Cindy can arrange a day and time for you.
There was a happy interview at our Tai Po Homing Centre today, so I very much hope that there will be good news after a second meeting planned for Monday. More than anywhere else, it's the dogs at Tai Po that I really want to see being adopted because there are so many of them and each one deserves to be given a second chance.
