Thurs 26th May: Hello to the "O" crowd

Nine new puppies arrived today, all with foster homes to go to (with many thanks to all who offered and our volunteer Foster Coordinator Cindy).  I have yet to come up with names for them all, but since one of the fosters asked if he could name his two puppies Ozzie and Odie, it looks as though this will be an "O" intake. (Update: I have given them all "O" names now).

Both hospitalised dogs were released today, with shy dog Sarah coming back to Lamma, and French bulldog Francine returning to our Kennedy Town Homing Centre while waiting for a foster home.  Francine is such a sweet girl, and if you can look after her during her (hopefully) recovery period, please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.   We're looking for a quiet home with no young children or other dogs, not because of any behaviour problems with Francine but because she needs to rest and not be tempted to run around and play.

Baxter has his new forever home

Tai Po dog Baxter was confirmed as a forever dog today, after a very short foster period of only a couple of days.  Baxter is such a lovely and happy young boy, surrendered when his ex-family left Hong Kong, so the decision to adopt was quickly made.

Beau looks very much like a golden retriever

Unfortunately one of the new dogs from AFCD, the one we called Beau because he's so handsome, tested positive for heartworm today.  He's only a year old so it's very disappointing, but at least we can get him treated and back to full health.  Once again we would like a foster home for Beau if at all possible, for pre- and post-treatment.  He's a very sweet-natured dog as well as being so good-looking, and I'm sure he'd make a wonderful house guest.
