Sun 1st May: A Failed Foster day

I was proved completely wrong today when the weather turned not only wet, but cold too.  I'd always said that you could safely put away all warm clothes once May arrived, but this year the long sleeves are definitely needed.  Despite the miserable weather our Tai Po Homing Centre had several visitors, so I hope I'll be writing about more adoptions very soon, in fact I'm pretty sure that I will.  Please remember that we open every single day so that includes Monday, a holiday, and I know we have some potential adopters due to meet the dogs.

Beth's fosters came back for her

All three puppy adoptions today were Failed Fosters.
Lucky siblings Rula and Rafferty are going to be staying together forever, while Beth was taken home again after moving into Whiskers N Paws as a full time resident.  The couple who had been fostering her obviously missed Beth so much they came to adopt her today!  The photo was taken by our volunteer Catherine, as the adoption took place after four o'clock, when our official volunteer photographer Banjamin Po had already left.  You can see his lovely set of photos here Puppy Adoption Day 01st May 2022.
Beth came to us as a newborn

We also had out first adoption at the newly opened Kennedy Town Homing Centre, which was also a Failed Foster.  This time it was long-term foster Pomelo whose status was upgraded to Forever Dog, and I love the photo of Pomelo with his bestie and "brother-in-arms" OJ.

Teeny tiny Gyro

We now have two small dogs staying at KTHC, as Tessa came back from her foster home to join dachshund Hunter.   Tiny poodle Gyro will also be making it a threesome on Monday, and I have a feeling the limited space we have will soon be full.   Our Homing Centres are open every day from 10am to 6pm, but please make sure that you have completed the adoption questionnaire before coming to visit:  https://hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.  Unlike the set-up at Ap Lei Chau, we don't have a dog park on the doorstep where we can take the dogs for potential adopters to meet and interact with, and the very small reception area means there's no room for crowds!
