Sat 17th Aug: Being in the right place at the right time

I know these lovely sisters are Astrid and Zoe
I can't add names to most of the puppies that were at today's adoption afternoon at Concordia Pet Care in Happy Valley because they're all new except sisters Zoe and Astrid,  and I have no idea who's who.  Yvonne Chan was the volunteer photographer, for which many thanks, and here's the album of gorgeous little ones  Puppy Adoption Day 17 August 2019, and they'll be back at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday plus a few more.  If you're interested in adopting please complete the Adoption Questionnaire in advance if at all possible, as it makes things so much easier all round.  You can find it on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).

Scuba's a fantastic little dog
I sent Scuba over to Ap Lei Chau from Lamma first thing in the morning and he was duly taken home by his foster family as arranged.  I had hoped this would be a potential adoption but it seems it's really just a foster, so Scuba is available if anyone wants a cheerful, sweet and very friendly little dog.
Harley leaving Ap Lei Chau

I'm so happy that people are starting to trickle back to Hong Kong after the end of their summer holidays, and one of those came as promised to meet the older puppies, and left with Harley in his arms.  Although Harley doesn't look too comfortable in the adoption photo I know he'll have a great life in his new home.

Good girl Shirley, you have a family now!
I was also very happy to get an adoption photo from our Tai Po Homing Centre showing sharpei Shirley on her way to her new home and life.  Shirley was found as a stray and has been with us for a while, but finally it was her lucky day.
Charlotte was out almost as soon as she was in

Many adoptions are a matter of being in the right place at the right time, and that was never more true than today when another stray dog was brought to our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre just at the time when a potential family were there completing the questionnaire.  Although the new dog didn't have a microchip, she was taken home for fostering until we can get everything arranged for a vet visit and licensing, and hopefully now-Charlotte will be staying forever if all works out.
