Mon 19th Aug: Perfect names

It's become very clear that our Foster Coordinator Cindy does an amazing job because I'm being rushed off my feet trying to keep up with all of the dogs and puppies in their temporary homes.  In addition to the usual vet visits and questions about this and that, we're holding another adoption event at WeWork in Central on Saturday, so I'm trying to organise for as many small-sized foster dogs and puppies to be there as I can.
Suzie is young, pretty and very loving with adults

I'd also arranged a meeting with one of the small foster dogs from Lamma with a potential family, and to be honest it didn't go too well as Suzie found it hard to handle the young children.  I doubt she's had any contact with children before, and while a little dog might seem to be an ideal size for small humans it's actually the bigger dogs that are almost always more suitable.  As for Suzie, she's being desexed on Tuesday so will appreciate the recovery time with her foster parents, and at least I know now that she's a perfect dogs for adults, very cuddly and happy, but not for children.

Super-cute and super-smart Dini
There's another little dog that came from the same place as Suzie (and many others) and now that his story is semi-complete I can tell you that he not only looks like our previous runaway terrier Tina, he also did exactly the same as she did and ran away within a very short time of arrival.  Again just like Tina he didn't go far but stayed where he knew there was food and water being left out for him, but it took some time before he was eventually caught.  I took him to Acorn today to get him checked over and licensed, and unfortunately it looks as though he might have tick fever thanks to his days on the run, so he'll be joining Suzie on Tuesday for a return visit to Acorn.  His name is Houdini, Dini for short, and he's also just a year old and really very cute.  Tina has settled very well in her new(ish) home and I'm sure Dini will be the same once he's accepted his domesticated life.

Karma is the perfect name for this lucky girl
Like Houdini the disappearing dog, Karma is the perfect name for the stray that was brought to us on Saturday, just as a family were at the Homing Centre looking for a new companion after losing their previous dog.  They immediately offered to foster then-Charlotte and within a couple of days knew it was going to be forever, so Karma got her new name.
