I really hope I'm not being prematurely excited about people starting to return to Hong Kong from their holidays overseas, but today we received quite a few very nice adoption enquiries for several of our puppies, dogs and doglets. Of course I know that there's a huge difference between an initial enquiry and an actual adoption, but a completed questionnaire is always a good start. If you don't already know, the questionnaire is the first step in every case, and you can find it at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
Sometimes the enquiry and questionnaire result in an immediate adoption, and that happened today when Diana was chosen. In fact several potential adopters had shown interest in this sweet little lady, but now she's gone home so hopefully the others that are still waiting will be picked for adoption instead. You can always see a good selection of the smaller dogs that are available here hkdr_eagle , as well as on our own
Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page, and Instagram @hkdr_official.
If you would like to be involved in the dogs' stories, and to see them through from arrival to adoption and learn what it takes to prepare them for their big day, then you might be interested in joining the HKDR Kennedy Town team.
We currently have a vacancy for a full-time staff member at Kennedy Town.
Any applicant must be:
Over 18 and holding a Permanent HKID.
Be able to speak and write English and Chinese.
Be flexible about duties and what's required, meaning being willing to work as part of a team. This covers the care and feeding of the dogs, walking them as needed, giving medicines, cleaning up, and talking to potential adopters.
You must have a mature attitude and be able to handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
We're happy to consider young applicants (but over 18) and to provide training, for applicants of any age as long as it's understood that the work can be physically hard.
If you're seriously interested, please send your CV and expect salary to info@hongkongdogrescue.com
