Mon 14th Aug: New arrivals and those still waiting

Puppy Tim at WNP

First things first, after the delay in uploading Eric Tang's wonderful photos taken at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, here they are: Puppy Adoption Day 13th Aug 2023.   We hadn't sent many hopefuls to the event as we were expecting heavy rain, but we have more puppies that have just arrived, or who will be coming from AFCD on Tuesday.

Amber and Albert

I suspect a lot of potential adopters will be interested in two of the new intake, shiba-corgi cross puppies Amber and Albert.  However most good things come with a catch, and these two cute youngsters probably have scabies (skin mites), although luckily it's very easy to treat.
Adam came with a badly injured leg

Another older puppy arrived with a broken and infected leg, so Adam was sent straight to Acorn for Dr Tony (just back from his holidays) to check on Tuesday.  We'll need a foster home for Adam once he's had (assumed) surgery please.

For fostering please complete the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/volunteer/fostering/, and for adoption enquiries it's www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/

The other dogs are as shown in the photos, with the pug boy Arthur being only two years old, so I have no doubt he'll be a popular choice.  Arnie the corgi also has a potential home to go to.  Remember we're still packed with lovely small-medium sized dogs of all ages, so there are plenty to choose from in addition to those shown here.

Husky girl

As mentioned yesterday there was also a husky coming as part of the group, and she was sent to Tai Po where her age is estimated to be two years.  We're told she had lived with other dogs, including small ones, so she must be friendly.

On Tuesday we'll also be getting a six year-old labrador boy from AFCD, also very friendly, plus two puppies from a litter than have been waiting for some time.  We had no space to take any sooner, and as these two are adopted we'll be able to take in more. We would also be happy for then to go to foster homes if it allows us to be able to help the others in the litter.
