Weds 13th Sept: An early post

I'm writing this ahead of time, not on the following day as usual, because I have to take two dogs to Acorn on Thursday morning.  It's extremely rare that I can leave home before lunchtime because I have so much to do, both in terms of replying to emails and other messages, plus feeding and walking the dogs.  However Griffin is one of the dogs that is booked in at the vet clinic, and he's not someone who can be sent on his own in a crate so I have to prepare everything in advance as much as possible. In fact I'm dreading what I suspect will be a big struggle once the vet (Dr Tony) pulls out the needle to take blood, even though Griffin actually enjoys the adventure of the boat and van ride.

One of the 3 Frenchies

There always seem to be new dogs coming in, and this latest group are three French bulldogs (arriving on Saturday) and poodles again (next week).  When I have any information I'll share it of course, but again the ages and photos don't always match what actually turns up.

2 year-old schnauzer

Someone is surrendering a two year-old schnauzer boy , and he should be available immediately.  His name is Primo, and apparently his family have already left Hong Kong, with their dog.

All of these poodles are 8 years old

The most recent intake have all been checked and are ready to go, so if anyone was waiting until the dogs had seen the vet please come back to meet them again. Butter the pom has a foster home offered, so it's only the poodles who are available. We still have many other poodles from previous intakes waiting for homes, so please ask to meet them when you visit our Kennedy Town North Street Centre.

There was sad news about the shiba puppy who was coming to us from a horrible breeder today, as we heard he had died in the morning.  The female did arrive though, and we're told she's a year old.  She has very bad twitching in one back leg, we assume the result of puppy distemper virus.  Her name is now Kira, and once again we would love a foster home if not a forever situation.

For all adoption enquiries please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/, and for fostering it's at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/volunteer/fostering/.
