Mon 7th March: Big now Tiny

I want to start by saying a massive thank you to everyone who turned up to volunteer at our Tai Po Homing Centre after our cries for help, and for those who made donations even if unable to support physically.  It's at times like this that we see the true Hong Kong spirit coming out, and it's really quite amazing.  Please keep coming, as we'll need you as long as this current Covid situation continues and our handful of staff struggle to take care of the hundreds of dogs staying with us at Tai Po.

Mr Big is now called Tiny

At least one dog left today, the one I mentioned yesterday but didn't want to name at the time.  Mr Big is now called Tiny, as we're all so happy for this boy who was surrendered to us when his family couldn't afford to feed him any longer.

We also have so many puppies in foster homes waiting for adoption, and for the first time for as long as I can remember we had to say no to requests to take in more newborns.  I can't tell you how hard it is to do that, but we currently have no Homing Centre for small dogs and puppies, and our Foster Coordinator Cindy is already overwhelmed with trying to deal with all of the puppies already in foster care.  That means arranging vet visits and food supplies, as well as appointments with potential adopters.  Here are just four of the puppies and their current locations:

Puddle (Pokfulam), Bliss (Ap Lei Chau), Nina (Sheung Wan), Krissy (Sheung Wan), and you can email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you would like to meet them.  Please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
