Fri 11th March: A day at home

Although not always directly related to the dogs it's been quite a hectic week for me one way or another, so I was relieved to be able to stay on Lamma today to enjoy the perfect weather and spend a bit of time on the beach with Phaedra and Damson.  I had actually planned to take some photos and video of them both swimming, but Phaedra was more interested in exploring and didn't do more than paddle, while Damson just wanted to scare off my ever-present shadow dog Oliver.  Luckily Oliver is the most placid of characters, despite being large, so he completely ignored Damson's threats.

Thanks once again to Buddy Bites for their very large donation of food for the Tai Po dogs, and the volunteers who helped to unload and store.  These donations now feed all of the dogs other than those requiring a special diet, so we're incredibly grateful for this invaluable support.

With the weekend ahead I'm hoping that the arranged puppy interviews will mean some adoptions to write about, and hopefully there'll be adult dogs included too.  Not having a second Homing Centre for the smaller dogs and puppies has really made things a lot more difficult in terms of adoption interviews, but I think the dogs are enjoying being in their temporary homes. As for the puppies, seeing the videos shared on our Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page of the care and training they're getting is really wonderful, just like Rachel ( a 3 month-old puppy girl) in her foster home, and all of the others whose information can be seen by clicking the links:

“Rachel is a very active and smart puppy. She’s pee-pad trained and already learned how to do “ paw “ & “ down “ in just less than a week. 😎She’s both toys motivated & food motivated so it is so easy to teach her new things.
Rachel is a very cuddly puppy, she cuddles and gives kisses and she would lay-down with you or Dilly(my dog) anytime of the day. Rachel is very easily loved. Rachel is a curious puppy, loves people and loves playing. She would quietly play with her chew toys herself aswell. She would sit while you prepare her food tho gets excited once she knows you’re about to put down the bowl. It would be great if she goes to another loving home with a dog! ❤️
