Fri 9th July: Still more new arrivals

Lupa

While we took in yet more puppies (three of them) and another adult from AFCD, I wanted to share photos of the "surprises" that arrived on Thursday as I think they're lovely.  Lupa in particular is very special with her wolf or fox-like appearance mixed with her small size, and I'm sharing volunteer Harryn's photo of Lupa alongside little corgi-cross Joshua so you get an idea of just how little she is.  Both she and Kiku are young adults, one to two years, so I have a feeling they won't have to wait too long to find their new homes.

Kiku is also a small girl

This cute little boy is Rufus

The new puppies will still have to go for their vet check and first vaccinations (SO important during this latest outbreak of infectious diseases) so they won't be at Sunday's Whiskers N Paws afternoon session, and in any case we like to observe them for a while and give them time to settle into the Homing Centre's non-stop games and party-like atmosphere.  I never tire of watching puppies playing and they always make me smile.  I think puppies should be used as therapy for anyone who's feeling down.

Lemon in February

Saturday is an opportunity for the older Tai Po puppies to find homes at the event in Causeway Bay, and it wasn't that long ago that they came to us as newborns, with two of them being from "The Edibles" litter.  Do you remember?  Every one of these puppies has turned into a very sweet character, probably thanks to the early love and care given by their respective foster homes.  A mother dog is obviously best for any puppy but hand-rearing does mean a puppy grows up with a natural trust of humans.  Of course it's always important that such puppies have a sibling to play with so they also learn how to socialise with other dogs, something that's so important for a well-balanced adulthood.
Lemon now, such a sweet girl

Donut, Ziti, Louie and Lemon are very sweet older puppies who are waiting for homes at HKDR Tai Po Homing Centre!
