Sun 6th June: From home to home is the best way

Piers and Dune will stay together

The puppy adoption activity was taking place today behind the scenes at the various foster homes, with two double adoptions (yay!) of "Beach Babies" Piers and Dune, and "Little Blacks" Sooty and Nero.  Another Beach Baby was also chosen and that was Coral, the pretty girl I know wouldn't be left behind.

Pasta already feels at home

Although there were no new adoptions at Whiskers N Paws it was still a good day for "The Edibles" litter as Minto's adoption was confirmed and Pasta was taken home from his temporary office job at the store.  Both puppies have older four-legged siblings in their new homes so they'll settle quickly.  In fact I already know that Pasta is having a great time, and of course Minto was taken for a trial last week and is already one of the family.

Here are the photos of today's puppy session, with many thanks to Rodger So  Puppy Adoption Day 6th June 2021 for being our volunteer photographer for the afternoon.  You'll see the new young puppies Elsa and Cupcake, as well as returned-from-foster Percy, now staying at Whiskers N Paws with Loopy.

"P" puppy Percy is staying at WNP now

For some further good news, and something I've been keeping quiet about because we wanted to be sure everything was OK with the puppies, the surviving  "T" Litter members are now ready to be adopted.  It wasn't a surprise to me that Talia was the one chosen today as she's so lovely, and I would have taken her home myself if I was in a position to do so.  Teezil, Tucker and shy Toggle are the other three, although they're not really siblings.

Also leaving the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre was sweet Bessie, and she too has a new friend to show her how everything works at home.

We're expecting new arrivals on Monday, more puppies and adults, including (I hope) the three dogs from AFCD Pokfulam.  We continue to see more pets being abandoned, left behind (one of today's expected intake) or surrendered, so once again I have to ask that anyone thinking about adopting considers the long-term commitment of having a dog, especially if you expect that you will or even might be leaving Hong Kong at any time over the next ten to fifteen years.  A dog's life is not to be borrowed or used at your convenience, a dog is part of your family and that means for ever.
