Cactus and Barney |
Are you thinking about getting a dog? Then you HAVE TO watch this Facebook Live session!
Little Steps has teamed up with Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) to talk about adopting a dog!
Having a furry family member is rewarding in so many ways. But it also requires work. Cactus Mok, with many years of experience in the field, will talk us through what families should think about when adopting a dog.
Questions that are covered:
* How to prepare the family and the home for a new dog
* Adopt or buy?
* How important is dog training?
* What breeds are best for kids?
* What to think about in case of flat size, allergies, and how many family members are in the home.
* Combine with other pets
Etc.

Also taking part, in fact in the starring role, was Barney, the cutest puppy who came to us in February as part of the ex-breeder/hoarder group. He had tick fever which is the only reason he was immediately adopted, but today's blood test showed he's almost better. Barney is one of the very few young puppies currently available although we have plenty of older ones and two litters of babies waiting in the wings. The first of these will be available in two to three weeks, and the second litter shortly after that.

This unwanted boy had many good offers |
It's sad that there were so many offers for this particular golden retriever when we have such lovely dogs waiting at our Tai Po Homing Centre. Maybe at least one of the potential homes will consider a mixed breed instead.
Sweet Waffle |
Pug Waffle went to her new home today. another gorgeous little dog that came to us in a terrible condition from the breeder/hoarder. With adorable Twiggy also leaving on Friday, I think that leaves just Spud from the pugs still waiting.
