Sun 17th March: Adoptions quietly taking place

Although the mother has no milk the pups still need her comfort
As anticipated it was an unusually quiet afternoon at Whiskers N Paws  Puppy Adoption Day 17 March 2019 and I'm assuming it was because all of the younger puppies we have are still too little to be able to attend a public event.  That doesn't mean that no puppies were adopted over the weekend though, as three of the new babies that came with their bichon frise mother have been confirmed as adopted, with a lot of other applications in the pipeline.  The pups will still stay together with the mother in their current foster home for a while to give them the best care before they set off to start their new lives, but it's good to know that they will have loving families waiting to take them in when the time comes.

One of the lovely photos by volunteer Yvonne Chan this Sunday
When I say there were no younger puppies at Whiskers N Paws that wasn't actually true as foster pup Wicca was there, the last of her litter.  She's a beautiful girl, and quite small so we don't expect her to grow into anything larger than medium size.

Mimsy enjoying the attention
Another very sweet old puppy was chosen today as well, and you can see from Rodger So's Saturday photo album at Concordia Pet Care Puppy Adoption Day 16 March 2019  why she was impossible to resist.  I can't say it enough times, the difference between the older and younger pups is only a matter of weeks so please don't overlook those that have passed the cute baby stage, because they are really at the best age for adoption having had everything bar desexing already done, and sometimes even that too.  Although Mimsy is no longer available there are lots of others who are also very sweet and loving, and just waiting for a chance to show that.

It was also a quiet day at our own Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre thanks to a big annual parade that blocks off the whole of Main Street, but later on it got busy and new girl Lola was chosen to go to her new home.
Lucky Logan, in and out
Lola was pretty much in and out

Logan the husky was also a very popular boy from the moment he arrived, and he didn't have to wait long at all for his new family.  As always when there's only one dog that a lot of people are interested in it means others being disappointed, but there are so many beautiful characters just wanting that one chance to show that they are just as worthy of a home and love.  They may not be a husky or a golden retriever, but they will love you faithfully and forever if you let them prove it to you.
