Sat 19th Jan: Happy dogs and Happy Valley

Jessie was found abandoned but quickly left the Homing Centre
Two happy adoptions took place at our Tai Po Homing Centre today, with one of the lucky dogs only a recent arrival after having been found abandoned and brought to us by her rescuer.  Jessie had obviously been a family pet as she was immediately very sweet and loving, and now she has found herself a new family to love.
Maxwell joined a lovely family today

The other dog was also a rescue from the street when he was found tied to a fire hydrant.  Now Maxwell has joined a wonderful family who have other ex-HKDR dogs to be his friends.

Thank you as always to all who choose to adopt rather than support the cruel pet trade.  Not all dogs are the prettiest or the most handsome, but it's what's inside that really counts.  Nothing beats the devotion and loyalty of a rescued dog, and you can be proud to say that you really did save a life because for every dog that leaves the Homing Centre, it creates space for another.
Adorable Dribble
Milky will be picked up on Sunday

How did they keep the puppies still for this great shot?
Our long-term volunteer and adopter of many HKDR dogs, Becky Chan, was in charge at Concordia Pet Care today for the now-regular Saturday puppy afternoon at this lovely Happy Valley venue.  Milky was the lucky boy today, and I expect we'll see some return visitors after they've had some time to think about the choices.  Here are the lovely photos of the events, and I do have to mention that the hairless rings round the puppies' eyes look a lot worse than they really are.

The camera tends to pick up slight flaws and exaggerate them.  You can see for yourselves at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday afternoon when it will be my turn to be with the puppies, along with the other regular volunteers who give up their free time to help out.

The Pet Expo continued today with shoppers and supporters keeping the volunteers busy on our stand, and if you want to pick up any bargains on the last day be sure to get there before closing on Sunday.
