Fri 4th Jan: A very amateur photographer

Old man Curly
I had an important job to do today, trying to get photographs of the Life Saver Club Lamma dogs to send to their sponsors.  This might sound like a pretty simple undertaking, but really it's not.  As soon as I get my phone out and aim in the direction of any dog one of two things happens, either the dog in question disappears or suddenly a whole group appear, completely blocking my view.  In the end I succeeded in getting a few not-very-good photos which I sent on to our new Life Saver Club volunteer, Ellen, with promises of another try tomorrow, perhaps when I'm out walking with the dogs.

Old lady Tufty
Many of the Lamma dogs have been with me since they were puppies, and are now in the last stage of their lives at fifteen years of age.  Curly and Tufty are two of these, both sponsored by Life Saver Club members, and I still have their baby photos in my computer.

Biff was also on the list, but after his early death from autoimmune-mediated disease, I suggested his sister Buffy as a replacement.

Griffin thought he should be in every photo

Griffin is also a Life Saver Club dog, and he was one of those who wanted to be in every photo as I walked around.   He's a special boy with a unique character, and he's one of those who made it very clear he never wanted to be adopted.  There are many more, obviously, and also a lot of the long-termers at both Tai Po and on Lamma who are still without sponsors.  If you would like to "adopt" one of these dogs, please email Ellen at lifesaver@hongkongdogrescue.com for information.
Cashew on her way to a new life

While we know some dogs will never be adopted for one reason or another, that doesn't mean we ever give up hope on long-termers who still have the potential to become family members.  Proving that point, Cashew left Tai Po today proudly wearing her new "outfit" of secure harness and leash.  Thank you to her adopters for giving her this wonderful opportunity of a real home for the rest of her life.

Our puppies will be busy this weekend as they will be at Concordia Pet Care on Saturday afternoon and at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, assuming they weren't adopted.  I get so many enquiries for designer breed puppies and just wish everyone would put aside pre-conceived ideas about mixed breeds and take a look at the amazing characters and happy natures of our puppies.  Just look again at last Sunday's photos and see how sweet they are **PUPPIES CURRENTLY WAITING FOR HOMES: Puppy Adoption Day 30 December 2018
